'Archaeology in the Glens' two day family event

Irish Archaeological Research (IAR) will be hosting an event in Glenarriff Forest Park on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July which will bring the past into the present in an entertaining way for all the family.  The event runs from 10am - 4pm each day.

The event consist of four activity areas located in the triangle of land adjacent to the main carpark.  The four activities will include a pop-up museum (an innovative, hands-on, heritage scheme), a pottery area with kiln, a childrens activity area and an archery areaJunior Archaeology Workshops will be staged especially for the under 12's where they will learn about their Celtic warrior ancestors and the art they used.

Entrance into the museum is free, a pottery pot costs £2 to get fired, access to the childrens activity area is £1 and to shoot 3 arrows also costs £1.
