Ballymena Community Choir is set to take off!
04 May 2012To celebrate the Paralympic Games Ballymena Borough Council are hosting a day of celebration in The Braid Arts Centre on Saturday 25th August 2012. It will be wonderful family orientated day of music, dance and drama.
With the help of local singer Sylvia Burnside we would like to establish a Community Choir to perform at this event in the hope that it continues from strength to strength and helps to develop Ballymena’s involvement in the arts. We hope that this event will be the start of a sustainable Ballymena Choir that will perform throughout the year and offer opportunities that would not be open to individuals otherwise.
Our aim is to be all inclusive; we would like the choir to represent the wide diversity of ages, abilities and backgrounds that make Ballymena a great place for everyone. You do not need to be a professional singer or have any singing experience-we want this to be an opportunity to come together and have fun!
We will be holding an information evening in The Braid Arts Centre on Tuesday 15th May between 7pm and 8pm. Please come along to express your interest and ask any questions you may have, we are very excited at the prospect of this project.
Everyone is welcome, spread the word to anyone you might think would like to participate and bring a friend along to the information evening.
