Calling all Serious Ballymena Young Artists

 

The deadline for entering the prestigious Ballymena Young Artist of the the Year competition is fast looming (31st January), with a tasty £500 first prize, plus seeing your work on exhibition in the Braid Arts centre.

 

The competition is organised by The Rotary Club of Ballymena, and the main sponsor is Vision Express. The competition is also supported by the Braid Arts Centre, Adair Arms Hotel and the John Street Gallery.

 

Second and third prizes are £300 and £100 . 

 

The competition is open to everyone between the ages of 19 and 30 who has been born or lives in the borough of Ballymena. Entering is really simple, just email 3-5 images of your work. Full details at www.rotary-young-artist.com

 

All mediums considered including textiles, paintings, drawings, photography and sculpture.

 

Rotarian Roy McKeown, from the John Street Gallery said “The Rotary club of Ballymena supports our local young artists and this competition not only provides encouragement for them, but an excellent addition to their cv.

 

Last years winner was Jonathan Holmes from Cambridge Avenue with stunning acrylic portraits.
