This is the finale Seminar for the ‘On the Brink: The Politics of Conflict 1914- 16’, a three- year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We will be discussing the following themes:

  • How can we best deliver heritage projects dealing with contested histories?

  • The role of the Volunteer in heritage projects

    The key note conference speaker will be Dr Johnston McMaster, lecturer and co-ordinator of the Education for Reconciliation programme, Irish School of Ecumenics, Belfast, whose areas of research include reconciliation and peacebuilding and ethical remembering.

    There will be facilitated interactive break-out sessions including Volunteer’s virtual tours, ‘On the Brink’ round table workshops and a closing panel discussion with invited guests.
