Past Exhibition: The Screaming Silence of the Wind Exhibition

Experience landscape art through imagery, sound and texture

For all who ever wished to touch a painting in a gallery. This art exhibition by local artist Maurice Orr uses powerful imagery, sound and textures to represent the coastal landscapes of Northern Ireland and Iceland. It will delight the senses.

This exhibition is part of Ballymena Borough Council’s programme of events to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. All artwork on display was commissioned by the Cultural Olympiad Unlimited programme. Unlimited celebrates disabled and deaf arts, culture and sport on an unprecedented scale. The project was developed in partnership by London 2012 and the UK Arts Councils, in consultation with the disability arts sector across the UK. The commissioning panel consisted of 55% disabled and deaf artists and advisors.

Braille, large print, and audio MP3 players are available for this exhibition. Just ask at reception desk at The Braid for details.
