Past Exhibition: The Men Behind the Glass Project: exhibition and local connections

Campbell College, Belfast lost 126 pupils and one teacher during The Great War. This exhibition tells the story of the school, both before and during the war years.  The story of local families, whose sons attended the College, is also told.

From the Men Behind The Glass website -  'Men Behind the Glass is a project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund which pays tribute to these lost men and boys, their families and friends and to those who fought and survived. Over 100 photographs have been embedded in the wood panelled walls of the College’s Central Hall for decades and this project will see the preservation of these images thanks to the Public Record Office NI (PRONI). In addition to preserving and digitising all these images this project will open up the College archives, work in partnership with the community groups, schools and organisations all over Ireland in order to tell the stories of these boys and men; how they lived as well as how they died.'  The exhibition tells this story in detail.

The exhibition is on loan from Campbell College from 2 July until 15 August 2019
